Revisiting Slippages
Centennial Anniversary of 19th Amendment

Letting Go, 1999

On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the passing of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, another allegation of sexual misconduct by a Supreme Court justice emerges. Revisiting Slippages, 2020 is my response to the urgency I feel now, as earlier during the 1992 testimony by Anita Hill against Clarence Thomas, to reimagine pictures of reality.

This new edition, Revisiting Slippages, 2020 questions how much, and how little, has changed in the intervening years. The (10) photographs in this new collection include selections from the original Slippages portfolio (1992-2002), with never-before printed images from my original project archive.
